Messenger RNA enables the exogenously expression of proteins both in vitro and in vivo. These mRNAs are offered either in un-encapsulated and LNP-encapsulated forms to enable the expression of proteins in cell lines, primary cells (including hard to transfect cells such as neurons) and in whole organisms such as mice. Messenger RNAs can be modified to minimize innate immunogenicity and boost protein expression. LNP-formulated mRNAs can be used for both research and biological drug development purposes because they are safe, effective and easy to deliver, even in non-dividing cells.
